SCHOOL VISION

​Students graduating from the Civic Leadership Academy will have the requisite 21st Century skills to adapt well to an ever-changing world fueled by new technologies and ways of learning. Our students will be advocates for their communities, assuming their role as positive and productive leaders of their communities.

Our role as educators is to facilitate the learning and growth of our students. We will work to help them achieve at their highest potential and to develop the necessary social and emotional skills to foster positive self-esteem and adaptability to diverse situations.

SCHOOL MISSION

Every student will graduate with a post-secondary plan that is supported by strong literacy and numeracy skills as well as work habits that foster resilience, perseverance, and adaptability in an ever-changing world.​

  • Community:

    • Able to work with others to achieve a common goal.

    • Able to work with diverse teams, negotiate and manage conflicts.

    • Act responsibly with the interests of the larger community in mind.

 

  • Learning:

    • Demonstrate effective spoken, written, visual, and technological communication skills.

    • Demonstrate curiosity and experiment creatively to achieve innovative solutions. 

    • Apply the content they have learned to make connections to new topics of study and to current world events.

    • Frame, analyze, and solve problems by exercising sound reasoning.

    • Make informed decisions about their future career and educational paths based on experiences gained during internships and interactions with practicing professionals.  

    • Have the confidence, and academic and social skills, to move into higher education and/or into the workplace.

    • Advocate for change peacefully and democratically.

    • Demonstrate resilience, tolerance, and openness to change. 

    • Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in personal, workplace, and community context.
